Hey equaTEK,

I can't speak directly to the module you're using, but it does sound like a compatibility issue with 6.1.1 - please read this blog post for more information.

Thanks,

Ian

 Ian -

Thank you for pointing me to the blog article. I passed it along to the developer of the module I referred to.  His understanding is that DNN 6.1.1 is not a stable release, so he will wait on revising his module until there is a stable release out.  Here's a link to his forum post: http://www.invenmanager.com/Support/U...

Is 6.1.1 a stable release?  If so, is there anything that can be done to make sure the development community knows this for certain?  If not, any idea when a stable release will come out?  This issue is severely hindering my progress on new site development, and I'd like to get it all resolved as quickly as possible.

Thanks,

Ben @ equaTEK

I think its stable enough out of the box everything works good and solid. Problem is with the modularity of DotnetNuke there are so many modules by module developers and the quality of one is much better than the other. Also the fact that the use of jQuery in modules or in DotNetNuke was  not standardized since recent release of dnn

This is why sometimes you get non working features because of 3rd party modules or skin that implement older jquery than is the cse in dnn6 and that can cause issues.

I just posted on InvenManager's forum to hopefully communicate that waiting on another DNN release isn't going to change the fact that he has to patch the Event Calendar and Registration module to work within the new jQuery loading method. Unless I missed it somewhere, DNN Corp has not indicated that anything will change related to the next release and that module developers just need to patch their modules to work with DNN 6.1.1.

I really needed DNN 6.1.1 because it solved some other issues I had with the original DNN 6.1.0 upgrade. Unfortunately it created additional issues with this jQuery change. And now I am dependent on multiple 3rd party module developers to patch their modules to work with this change.

All I can ask for is that maybe there is better communication between DNN Corp and module developers regarding this type of change. But I guess in this case, it wasn't foreseen to be a real issue until it was too late. Is there any way that DNN Corp notifies vendors once an issue is known? Since you own Snowcovered could you use that as a way to get the word out?

You dont need the manage button you can jsut as easy replace it with another menustyle ( the manage button is just ddrmenu)

You can use the ddrmenu tempalte from codepelx and for eaxample use the simple dropdown or superfish as style for you arcion menu works great for my taste ( 90% of my own skins use the simeple combobox ( dropdown) as style for my module action menu

Did Active Social ever get patched? I have this problem only on pages with AS modules.
