Most hosting providers have 2 versions of hosting, one is for people programming against Microsoft and the .NET services and MS SQL, the other is a Linux service and is for people that program mostly in PHP and mySQL.

Most likely the company that you use will have the option to switch you over to a Microsoft hosting package, but make sure they offer the latest ASP.NET (at least 3.5 but 4 is best). I have seen some people using 1&1 hosting and they still only offer support for ASP.NET 2.0 and under.

From the research I have done the best option is to go with right now is GoDaddy, I am sure there could be better out there but I have not found anything yet. If there is better available feel free to share. (and no I dont have any affiliation with GoDaddy, I just have been using them a long time:))

Hope this helps!

Sam

I am learning the best I can. Thank you all for your help and advice!

Thanks for your answer,

Sometimes, it's good to follow our instinct, I surf a while on some answers I found in the forum and I have decided to change my web hosting company for PowerDNN.

Times is money and I did not have the time to play with a hosting company that even didn't know the name DotNetNuke. For what I have seen so far, this is a very well organized company and I need to have my site up and running fast.

So I'll keep you inform as a new user of DotNetNuke and PowerDNN of the steps and feelings I have using them.

Let's get going

Have a great day
