Thanks...

When upgrading, what does the upgrade include? Does it include a .Net Framework upgrade? What other updates does it include? I don't see any notes when upgrading what is actually changed.

Also, how can I tell what version of DNN I currently have?

After reading the following upgrade link http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...it suggests to upgrade from version x to version y.

I need to know what DNN version I currently have, but don't know how to find out.

I downloaded an upgrade file called DotNetNuke_Community_06.01.01_Upgrade.zip.

Would I have to perform the updates sequentially (one by one via the link above) until I get to the latest version or can I simply use the zip file above to upgrade?

Thanks so much everybody for your help since I'm brand new to DNN.

Hi Bill,

You can find out the current version of DNN by going to Host > Host Settings > Basic Settings tab.

You should upgrade sequentially according to the Suggested Upgrade Path.

You can download older versions of DNN from http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/releases/view/76285 (check out the Other Downloads section on the right), remember to download the Version Upgrade.

Hope that helps!

That just gives me the .Net Framework version the website is on.

In order for me to upgrade properly, I need to know the version I have now. Surely, there must be a way to tell what version I have. I would suspect it would be in the web config file somewhere, etc.

Also, is it really neccesary to upgrade sequentially one by one instead of the zip file I downloaded from the site for the upgrade?

Also, what's included in an upgrade?

if latest DNN version is not stated in Host > Host Settings, you might have a really old version.
you may check files in /provider/dataproviders/sqldataprovider. .sqldataprovider file with highest number should be your current version.
