Hi all,

I have this problem (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/108/threadid/365625/scope/posts.aspx) now in DNN 06.01.02. This install is upgraded from 04.09.05 in steps suggested here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Suggested_Upgrade_Path.aspx

I'm on a local install for now.

I change the FriendlyName in my dnn_DesktopsModule table, but this is not picked up in the list of Extensions.

I have restarted the App and IIS and also deleted the cache.

Can it be my dnn_  prefix not being picked up from the stored procedures?

Which stored procedures are used here?

Plese help ASAP!

I can't reproduce your problem. DesktopModules > FriendlyName is the table/column that will change the name of the module from the Add module to page drop down in the control panel. (You will need to recycle the application pool as you've done to clear it from memory).

The only other table that contains the FriendlyName for the module is within the Packages table. This feature will change the name of the module in the Host > Extensions list.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for responding. I understand there have been a change from DNN 04.09.05, where the value in the Host - Modules list was the same as in the Add Modules list. I missed that the values in the Add Modules list changed when I changed the FriendlyName in my table dnn_DesktopModules. :)

What I need now is to change to the same FriendlyName in my table dnn_Packages to keep the Host - Extensions in sync with the Add Modules list.

Is this OK to do?

When I try to edit a row in dnn_Packages through SQL Manager I get an error denying me to do this. Can I perhaps change this through a Stored procedure? And again is it OK to do so?

You shouldn't have any problems changing the FriendlyName in the Packages table.

I don't recommend changing any stored procedures. Your'e simply changing the Friendly name of the module which is not used in the module stored procedure calls.

Simpy go to HOST > SQL and run:

update dnn_Packages set FriendlyName='TEXT/HTML' where friendlyname='HTML'

Obviously after you've backed up your site of course.
