Hello everyone

I am not sure if anyone will see this but I thought I would post it and also ask for some help too.

I am running DNN 6.0.01 on IIS 7 ASP.net 4.0 server 2008 64bit.

An server update

Reliability Update 1 for the .NET Framework 4

was installed that updated the asp.net framework. All of a sudden I couldn't update anything on my site. there was a javascript error on the page concerning the webresource.axd. When I entered the aaxd url no javascript was returned.

There were many updates to asp.net 4.0 but I uninsstalled the first update and I am now able to save content etc.

HOWEVER, I have odd behavior on the site where I run banners from smoke ranch and everytime the banner rotates the content in several modules disappears and at times there is a javascript error referencing Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd? so I assume I still have a problem with the MS updates.

Any ideas, should I remove all of the updates. Reinstall asp.net 4.0?

Any help would be appreciated!

Carl

that's odd, normally the updated .net versions from Microsoft are pretty reliable - I would suggest considering unloading/restarting the application pool (or even doing an IISRESET) in case in resolved the issue. If it doesn't try reinstalling the version of the framework -many of the msi's will automatically offer a repair/remove option to fix borked installs, so selecting repair should hopefully help.

Have you tried this on multiple browsers? Wonder if it is a JS caching issue?

I did have a small issue but it went away in a couple of days. According to the patch side effect warnings at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2659968
"After the new ticket behavior is enabled, all forms authentication tickets that are generated by using the old behavior will be invalidated. When this issue occurs, end-users are logged off, and server administrators may experience ticket decryption failures.
... These failures may cause unexpected behavior. For example, "HTTP 401" or "HTTP 302" errors may occur if the webpages are protected by an element."

So you might want to try adding this to your web config, but in the end I did not need it:

Thanks for the info everyone. Reinstalled 4.0 and everything seems to be working ok! Before I did the reinstall Chris I checked on all browers and had the problem.
