I've been looking all over with no luck on how to read from the server using JQuery so I can build my News slider. Anyone know how or know a tutorial?

As a question I think this is way to vague.

I have no idea what you are really trying to do, nor what you have tried.

I basically need to access some data in my database using JQuery. I don't know the syntax to do that. I'm asking what the syntax is or where a tutorial is to teach me it.

I did see things on Ajax, but I know nothing about Ajax.
