Can anyone in the DNN Community find out what is happening with Indoogrid?  This module was/is the by far best out there for ms sql integration and I would hope the people who own DNN could advocate on behalf of us users and look into this major vendor's future as a module.

I understand there are issues with DNN6 that make the current Indoogrid incompatible.  Also, it seems that the people who made the module have fallen off the face of the Earth.  Their website is a ghost town.

Can anyone who in the DNN hierarchy look into this?  A lot of sites depend on Indoogrid and we need to know if we can count on Indoogrid being available in the future or if we have to re-educate ourselves on one of the clumsy alternatives.

Thanks.

Frustratingly for end users - module developers do tend to come and go - the main issue tends to be that developers put many thousands of hours into developing modules - often expecting that there will be a huge return in terms of retail sales.  But the marketplace tends to want a whole lot for very little - that module that you may think is expensive at 100usd OR less - may have real costs amounting to tens of thousands of dollars attached to it ... If those sales do not eventuate - then they tend to be forced to move onto other things.

You best bet would be to send the developer a direct message via their site - http://www.indoolab.com/Company/tabid...

I contacted them when DNN 6 came out. They intended to create a new release last fall, and as far as I can tell, you are correct - the income to development cost ratio is likely upside down.

I'd like to know if anyone is using the reports module to recreate what inDoo grid does in DNN5

I really need to upgrade to 6 - but am waiting on Active Social as well.

Follow up to Indoogrid thread - I had to move a site that uses this module to a new server and I had no choice but to purchase another license through snowcovered because Indoogrid is not responding to any emails. Now I'm moving another site and I sure don't want to purchase yet another copy just because I'm changing hosts. Can the new Dot Net Nuke Store do anything to help with licensing since we're paying through them.

I too would be very interested to know if they were going to be continuing development or at least passing it on to someone who is interested in moving it forward. There was a rumor of Indoogrid 3.0 but it was all secondhand and it appears as though it is tough to get any communication from Primoz. Someone had even posted a rumor on the Indoolab forum that he had passed away...

The truly sad thing is that it is a really great module and I have not been able to find one that has as much functionality for working with SQL built into it. Not that there aren't other great form and view modules out there.

Hope they just have their heads down and will be posting a DNN 6 compatible module soon.
