I appreciate the offer of remote assistance and may take you up on it. First I would like to know how DNN checks to see it it is a new installation or existing. There must be some fundamental setting that I did not change when setting this site up on my workstation. As I said I checked the connection string and it pulls up the local version of the database. Are there any other settings that are checked to tell if this is an existing site?

Resolved! Sorry to have wasted the bandwidth. It was my dumb error. Some files did not copy down from the live site. Finally located which ones were missing and the site fired right up.
