The Login Page works perfect. In fact if I modify the permissions of a page to be visible for all users it also works fine. The issue happens when I login with an account that is not host or admin.

Portal Information:

I created a security role and have configured the pages in my portal to be viewed by users with that role. I have also added that security role for the user accounts.

Dear All,
We are now facing a similar problem in DNN ver. 6.1.3. Our website has 3 languages: English-US (system default, not active), Dutch (site default) and English-GB. After login when Dutch is chosen, the text for ‘logout’ is not being localized to ‘uitloggen’ even though the files login.ascx.en-gb.resx  and login.ascx.nl-nl.resx have entries with the translations. At the same time the pages’ names and html content is correctly shown when switching from Dutch to English and back.

Other symptoms:

1.  Before the user is logged in, the text for ‘login’ is being translated correctly when switching between languages.
2.  If to login as host in layout mode, the text for ‘logout’ is being translated correctly when switching between languages. This is actually the only case when text for 'logout' is correctly translated.

So it seems like after login the language is ‘stuck’ for certain default dnn modules (in our case it’s login and search) for some reason.

Any ideas how to let dnn know that as if the language is switched it needs to localize the ‘logout’ text as well?

Solution found!

Site Settings > Advanced Settings > Usability Settings > Control Panel Mode

make it 'View' instead of 'Edit' and the problem will be solved

Hi Rita,

By the way, you should take a look at the database table Profile. In this table is where the Usability setting is stored for each user.

Look at the ProfileData column.

For users that have been created before changing the Usability settings in the Portal Advanced Settings, just left the field in blank or change the EDIT string to ViEW.

Hope it helps.
