Hmmm and u didnt need to alter the SQL server settings or anything prior to installation?
I tried going thru the menus in Management Studio to see what options there were and i found a reset function that when utilized, it lets u reset the db settings either as clean 2012 or in 2008r2 compatibility mode.

I tried resetting to 2008r2 comp mode and im currently uploading the installation files for dnn 6.1.5.

I ran 3 scripts on the production db to clear it out, one that drops all the tables, one that drops all views and one that drops all sp's.

Ofc leaving the system views and system sp's behind, but maybe im missing something in that procedure? Like is there anything else i have to clear out before re-installing?

Thx for testing and hlping out Seb. :-)

Just received a reply to my support ticket at unoeuro.com and they moved my db to a sql 2008, so i cant find out whether it wouldve worked or not after resetting the 2012 settings to 2008r2 comp. :-/

Well hopefully i will at least be able to install dnn now and do some testing at a later time on the hosted prod environment, i do have another customer i need to move and upgrade which isnt in a hurry, so that shd leave time for doing some testing. :-D

My two instances on DNN 6.1.5 and 6.2.0 Beta are also running on SQL 2012 as a new install, w/o any issues. I think it could happend with issues on permissions or perhaps with the Maschine Key of the Web.config file. If you transfer a existing portal from one server to an other you must be sure that the Maschine Key is always the same.

Also I know that some special permissions for the iUser could be needed if you using a other databaseOwner (Schema) for your instance.

So on some Hosting environments tehre could be the need of some special settings.

glad you were able to solve it. To answer your questions: I installed SQL Server with default settings and used Webmatrix to install DNN, which uses all the defaults.

Cheers from Germany,
