I recently upgraded from 5.5 to 6.1.5, and the publish changes option on the Html Text Module doesn't actually publish the changes while using Content Staging.  It does the same thing if Publish Changes is checked or unchecked.  The content changes get saved, but the publish button shows up below the text area indicating that the publish did not take affect.

With that said, I did actually get the publish changes checkbox to work the 2nd time I clicked on Edit Content.  So these are the steps I had to take to get it to work.  Click on Edit Content, make content changes, click on Publish Changes checkbox, click on Save (Publish button is now below text area after page appears), click on Edit Content, click on Publish Changes checkbox, click on Save, and then the publish actually takes affect.

In DNN version 5.5 the publish checkbox seemed to work just fine, but the HTML Module version was 5.4.3, and it is now 6.1.5 after the upgrade.

Any help in how to get the publish changes to work is appreciated.

If I understand you correctly, the new behavior is that checking the "On Save?" checkbox does not actually publish the changes on the first edit. Also, the "Publish" green checkmark appears below the text, indicating that this change is yet to be published. That sounds like a bug to me.

However, you should be able to click the green "Publish" checkmark and the changes will be published. You shouldn't have to go back into the editor to do it. That has been my experience.

That is correct.  The green "Publish" checkmark does work as well.  I am just afraid that one of our content editors will use the "On Save?" checkbox expecting the change to be published, where it actually is not.  I was hoping someone had come across a fix for this.  Thomas, thanks for responding.

We are on 6.20 and have the same issue.  I imagine a version upgrade will fix the issue but we have a large site and I need to do a lot of testing before the next upgrade. So does anyone know of a pre-upgrade fix for this issue?

-something clever or funny.
