I am trying to resurrect an old site and this is my predicatment (followed by a question).

 First, the site works fine.

Second, if i try to go to the database via phpmyadmin the credentials i was given don't work. I know phpmyadmin works though because the 2nd site credentials work fine. My assumption here is that the creds I was given are incorrect.

If i change the admin password for the database, will my DNN site continue to work, or is there a file stashed away somewhere with the username/password that will break if i do this?

Ryan,
Changing the password will break DNN's connection to the DB. You can see the username/password DNN is using by opening the web.config and looking at the values in the connection string node.
