Couple of quick points

1. Whilst Will is the authority is this area and the best person to talk to, he's an extremly busy man and it's not feasible for him to get involved in every "Active" related discussion.

2. not 100% of active social has been integrated, we simply ran out of time in some cases as we had to stop and ensure adequate testing to reach our quality goals for release.Im sure we will add in some of the missing elements in future releases (and go much further beyond the capabilities of the original activesocial product with the next major release)

3. you can of course create your own user filters, however you would either have to fork the core memberdirectory module or add the code back in in each release - if the code changes are not dramatic, it would be an idea to raise it as an enhancement at support.dotnetnuke.com and supply the code change  & set the "contains code fix" checkbox to alert us, as at least that way the code will be integrated more quickly.

I think I figured out the logic of DNN 6.2 in regards to role filtering.

When you create a new security role in DNN 6.2 there are 3 options for security mode:
1. SecurityRole
2. SocialGroup
3. Both

For pre-existing roles that I had I selected the third option 'both' and then in the 'Members Directory' i saw the role under Filter by Group. Meaning that in order to filter by role you need to define the role as a SocialGroup.

Hope it helps.

David.
