Hello DNN folks.

I am using DNN 5.6. I use an admin ID not a host ID.  I would like to review users by demographic information, specifically by telephone area code.  I cannot find how to display this property on the User Accounts page.  Alternatively, I would like to export the user information and review in Excel but cannot find and export function.

1. Can I change the properties displayed on the Users Account page?
2. Can I (as a non-host ID)  export the user information?

Thanks for your help.

David

In module settings of user accounts module you should be able to select columns to display.
there are modules in the DNN store to provide you with export feature, e.g. PHDObson user manager.

Hi Sebastian.
Thanks for the reply. I'm looking into the PHDObson module.

I have created a problem for myself. I was editing the User Accounts setting and reading the 5.6 User Manual. On page 1416 is the description of the Default Display Mode settings. The setting was set at 2 but when I read the pdf my understanding that by entering "All" I would see "All user accounts are displayed on the User Accounts module by default".

Well, that created my problem. Apparently this database table column is requires numeric values. I entered the "All" and now I get a "page load" error for the User Accounts page.

I am an admin and do not have host sql server rights. I have to email the host have them change the value back to the original "2". Can you tell the table and column value my host will have modify to return this attribute to a 2?

Thanks so much.

David

I was able to create the script I needed my host to execute. This script will reset the User Account 'Default Display Mode' to the correct value. The problem was caused by DNN 'User Accounts Settings' module not having edits on the 'Default Display Mode' value and their documentation indicating the value for this attribute to be alpha instead of numeric. When logged in as a "host" this attribute value is a drop down box; when logged in as an admin, it is a text box.

There are two lines of SQL script. The first will return one row with a "SettingValue" of "all". The second line of script will reset the column value to "2" for portal 6.

SELECT SettingValue FROM PortalSettings WHERE PortalID=6 AND SettingName='Display_mode'

UPDATE PortalSettings SET SettingValue = 2 WHERE PortalID=6 AND SettingName='Display_mode'

Finally, please go to Host-->Host Setting--> and click "Restart Application". This will recycle the application pool, with no effects on other active applications.

I hope this helps someone else.

Thanks.

David
