When trying to add a site as superuser I get access denied to the file 'Access to the path 'D:\Inetpub\~\Portals\_default\Default Website.template.en-US.resx' is denied. ' The '~' is a placeholder for the real folder name.

I've checked permission, Network service - full control, IIS_IUSR full control, and Everyone full control. and I've tried restarting IIS , the app pool and the server to no avail as well as made sure the app pool uses 'network service' as well.

I've got the June community version of nuke on IIS 7.5 32 bit windows 2008 server.

Any idea's?

Thanks

IUser and every one with full control is a high risk security issue, both must only have read permissions!  Only the application pool user must have full access!

Make sure you inherited the permissions to all subfolders and files.  Be sure you have setup both connection strings on your web.config file.

I'm aware of the security issues I only did that for trouble shooting. The dB works fine as the site comes up fine. Both connection string what is the second one?

Some lines after the first connection string is a 2nd connection string which had also to be connected to the database.  It is the connection string for legancy modules.

Thanks for the reply, I've solved the problem. User vs keyboard. Remember to uncheck that darn read only check box on the folder permissions.
