I am having a problem with my SMTP server. Everything was working fine for about a month until yesterday. We have it configured to basic and have listed an SMTP Server and Port, SMTP username, and SMTP password. However, yesterday the site email stopped working and I am getting the following message when I click "Test SMTP Settings":

There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is:
There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP Server. Mail was not sent.

Does anyone have an idea where I should start looking to try and fix this? Does this mean that one of  SMTP Server and Port, SMTP username, or SMTP Password  is incorrect?

Typically, yes this means that one of them was incorrect. I had this issue with a site last week as well. I would try just resetting the information in the boxes and saving it to see if that helps.

Thanks Mitchel, I tried this and was still running into the same problem. It seems puzzling to me. I'm looking into whether my SMTP information is just inaccurate.
