glad you've found a workaround - its not an attribute ive used but a glance at dnnfriendlyurlprovider suggests it only gets used when generating a friendly querystring so it should have no impact

Just following up on this one. If it's the same error (and I think it is) the cause is from using the module commands that the module container puts at the bottom of the module, rather than using the in-built menu.

this thread is a couple of years old and applies to old "humanfriendly" URLs.
If you are using Advanced URLs in DNN 7.1.0 or later, you are able to provide customized page URL for each page, where you would avoid using umlauts.
