I'm following the instructions from Chris's wiki:

I only had partial success with that. I think I got farther than you. Don't remember. I could not get debugging to work and I never found out why.

I had more success with Steve Fabian's template. http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Blogs/EntryId/3263/Lets-Build-a-Module-1-Project-Introduction.aspx

Hi all,

Thanks very much for the help. Third time lucky as it's now working correctly!

The only thing I can think of that I may have done wrong would have been trying to modify folder permissions AFTER I'd installed DNN... but I honestly can't say for sure.

To anyone else with problems related to this module follow the setup wiki (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/development-environment.aspx) step by step so you don't miss anything... no matter how many times you've installed DNN before ;-)

Thanks again!

Does hitting F5 to debug work for you? That failed for me.. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5780384/how-do-i-fix-the-message-the-debug-request-could-not-be-processed-by-the-serv/6117285#comment7276502_6117285

I also posted a comment on Chris' blog, but he neither approved it and nor answered it.

Best wishes,

Hi Richard,

Yup... I get the following error message when attempting to debug:

Unable to start debugging on the web server. The web server is not configured correctly. See help for common configuration errors. Running the web page outside of the debugger may provide further information.

Click Help for more information.

The only thing I have done since creating the project is add "Hello world" to the view.ascx file so I could build the module (in release mode) to make sure I could install, and use, it on my dnndev site. That worked fine.
