Costas, whats the story with the latest module? It looks like there is a "stable" release of the new module, 5.0.1. Let me know your experience with it.

Well, i don't really know. A lot of people joined at Codeplex, both devs and followers. Some movement ...  but still a LOT of work to be done.

And it is going very-very slowly.

Currently the "stable" release version is not good for anything but for testing. The upgrade from older versions needs work to be done (it seems that nobody has upgraded his live system). New installations also have problems with functions not working as expected.

All in all, it would take more than 6 months to have something that can be used in a live system.

This is my PERSONAL opinion as a user. Nothing else, please no angry emails from anyone ....

Pretty lame. I think I need to start looking at Drupal or Umbraco. If I do another forum site I will go with phpbb or YAF depending on the platform I choose.

I cant believe how certain things are just ignored. I think Chris P is still the only one working on this and he seems to be tied up working on the blog module. DNN is adding so much to the main system but not even getting the core items right. I really don't get why they wouldn't just make sure that EVERY core module works perfectly. There is still a 4 year old issue on the documents module.

PS. It doesn't even look like DNN.com is using the latest "stable" core forum module.

You are aware that YAF has an EXCELLENT module for DNN.

Excellent. I'm using it in some DNN installation and never had a single problem with it.

Also right now this guy seems to be doing real work for AF 5. Not the Chris you say.
