PS. It doesn't even look like DNN.com is using the latest "stable" core forum module.

Because there are many issues in the convertion and DNN runs a HUGE forum database. I think when DNN.com switches to AF 5, then it will be for all of us to do so. A great test.

I think the AF version will be more like AF 7 and DNN 8.

:)

Pretty lame. I think I need to start looking at Drupal or Umbraco. If I do another forum site I will go with phpbb or YAF depending on the platform I choose.

I cant believe how certain things are just ignored. I think Chris P is still the only one working on this and he seems to be tied up working on the blog module. DNN is adding so much to the main system but not even getting the core items right. I really don't get why they wouldn't just make sure that EVERY core module works perfectly. There is still a 4 year old issue on the documents module.

You are aware that YAF has an EXCELLENT module for DNN.

Excellent. I'm using it in some DNN installation and never had a single problem with it.

Also right now this guy seems to be doing real work for AF 5. Not the Chris you say.

Yes I know YAF has a DNN forum.  I havent looked in a while but before I didnt switch because they really didnt have a migration script that worked with the 5.x forums. I will take a new look. THanks.

I think they still do not have an upgrade path from DNN Forums to YAF.

Doesn't look like it.  Here is a link to my post.  Maybe you can go over an +1 the post.

As there is no real development on this forum nor blog modules, I have already taken the decision to maintain my own copy of both *old* versions and fix the issues as they are found.

Have already linked some of the fixes in binary format already on here as well, could merge the changes in codeplex repository if I only know how to do that...
