Hmm, anyone who can explain why i get a connection error whatever parameters i use in web.config?

During install i get this message:

No valid default database connection detected.
Standard Database setup option is unavailable

I have followed the procedure in the read.me file under \Documentation. (And tried the same setup as used on a running dnn5 installation)

From web.config:

<connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008   -->
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=DnnUser;pwd=Dnn7Sql;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
  </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=DnnUser;pwd=Dnn7Sql;"/>
    ....

No, that is also my experience, i have tried to use
Database setup = Advanced,
Type = Sql server
Server name = (local)
Databasename = DotNetNuke
Security = UserDefined

What about Object Qualifier, it is optional, should it be set?

If i connect to DotNetNuke db with DnnUser via sqlmanager i can create tables etc., so the sql 'things' must be ok.

it is up to you, whether you are using an object qualifier, it is necessary only, if using the same database for other applications as well (and for module development to make sure, the module is supporting it).

be aware: CTPs are not intended to use in production and are expected having issues.
