The errors are coming from a failure to find the named stored procedures in the database or insufficient database permissions to effect the changes. This could be caused by database owner name being different from the expected dbo. , it could be that you use an object qualifier in your database and this has not been taken into account in the scripts.

It may help to either upgrade the repository first OR just do a repair install of your current version to see if that recreates the < possibly missing > stored procedures.

Still working on this and had several more failed attempts - i think it could be  a database permission problem, but still investigating.

1. Telerik is no longer a problem. This seems k now, after copying the .dll files to my bin.

2. I've re-installed the repository (v 3.1 - as thats the latest i can have at the moment)
I've also uninstalled it and tried deleting the repository folder from the server.
- but I still got the same permissions issue.

We recently moved the location of some db mssql files and then had to recreate new logins in order to get the site working again.
But the site was fully working so didn't see that this could be a problem (our connection string has been updated accordingly to reflect the new user name and password).

Will try again next week.

update:

We are not using any Object Qualifiers, so can safely rule that out.

I'm getting the same permission errors when upgrading DNN on development site from 6.1 to v6.2.

New logins have been created recently on our SQL2005 server (- prior to these upgrades, perhaps this could be the issue? -
although both sites are working as normal prior to upgrade attempts - unless the upgrades require further permission than the day to day operation of DNN sites?.)

If the problem is related to the below -  'insufficient database permissions'

... the database has already been given the permission of 'owner' under 'User Mappings'.

finally managed to run another successful on the development server, by creating a new login account.
- and got no permission issue.

However, just tried the same on the live site - but this still gives the same permission errors as before.

Could this be related to a firewall issue?
As our development site can only be accessed locally (inside our DMZ)?

Thought I'd cracked it, after a successful installation on the development server.

However I can't replicate the success on the live server and I could do with knowing what the errors mean so that I can get the live site working.
Therefor I rolled back the development server and tried to run this upgrade again - carefully tracing all steps exactly.

I now get the permission errors again and can't resolve them.

In SQL 2005 server >> Under programmability >> stored procedures >>
the above items which give the errors, which say 'may not exist or don't have permission' for, exist in this list.

e.g
'grmApproveRepositoryObject'
'grmChangeRepositoryModuleDefId'
'Forum_ThreadViewsDelete

etc.. all appear in the stored procedure list.

Perhaps I need to Modify these stored procedures or add permissions somehow here? -
Although there's about 340 which failed.

Hi Mark,

Is the user named in your web.config sqlserver connection string configured as the database owner under the dbo schema in sql server 2005?
