I spent most of the day today with a server that was having the same problem. The problem on the server is some sort of IIS configuration, I was unable to repro the problem on my local machine after restoring a backup of the site and even after extensive comparison of server settings. I did however come up with a potential work around (not permanent solution).

I have created a small diagnostic .dll to see if the problem I was working on today is the same on the other problem servers reported in this thread.

I would really appreciate if anyone with this problem on the RC would download the diagnostic dll from https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5862395/SFAu... and report back here with the results. There are instructions in the .zip file.

Before running this test, be sure you have 7.0.0.1562 (RC1) or later installed (check in Host | Host Setttings). Earlier versions had a much more common problem caused by invalid cookie names which has already been fixed.

BTW, the workaround is to set runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests to true.

Hi Scott,

I too am experiencing this issue and have the RC version 07.00.00 (1562). Here's a link to my debugging log dump, https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B-3T...

I think the log entries in question are:
-Before workaround
2012-11-21 14:35:55,232 [whp-webtest][Thread:25][DEBUG] SFAuthInspector.AuthInspector - The request to http://whp-webtest/dotnetnukepro/DesktopModules/internalservices/API/controlbar/ToggleUserMode is already authenticated by: Negotiate method, for IIS APPPOOL\DotnetnukePro

-After workaround:
2012-11-21 14:38:02,975 [whp-webtest][Thread:27][DEBUG] SFAuthInspector.AuthInspector - The request to http://whp-webtest/dotnetnukepro/DesktopModules/internalservices/API/controlbar/ToggleUserMode is already authenticated by: Forms method, for moss

I can reliably reproduce this error on the DNN 7 RC on two different computers. The 'rammfar' set to true does fix it in each case.
