If I upload a file via File Manager, the file size is same on server & desktop. Now if I download this same file, the file size increases by 30 or 40% and is corrupt.

I tried turning off compression on server, same result. This is DNN 6.2.4 on IIS 7.5

sounds like an issue with downloading using a different encoded protocol, not properly supported by the browser. did you try different browsers?

The browsers I tested were IE9, FF15 and Chrome - the latest versions of the most popular browsers. I tried that on 3 different computers - each has 3 browsers.

The file in question is either .doc, xl or pdf. Haven't tested other formats. And the very strange thing is if I upload the same file via DNN core blog, the file is fine for either download or open. If I ftp the file back to desktop, it is fine. So File Manager upload is fine, it is download or open that don't work.

So the problem is with file manager or some setting related to it or something like compression or gzip? Or something related to updating DNN?

did you check mime type settings in IIS and static compression?

checked mime settings and static compression is enabled.
This worked in prev version ... I have another DNN install running 6.1.3 and File Manager works perfect - same server.
