I would like registered users to have a public profile page but cant even get my superuser account to display data on the profile page.   I think a setting change is needed but cant find it.

here is what I've done and hoping someone can tell me where I need help.

Under Host account i did the following:
User account settings --> Profile Settings -->  checked visible for all profile columns
User account settings --> Profile Settings -->  checked display profile visibility
Entered data in my profile --> address, name, ect.
Open profile page --> View Display module --> Settings --> View profile settings --> Clicked Load Defaults
It loads:
<div id="UserProfile">
 <img alt="Profile Avatar" class="ProfilePhoto" width="120" height="120" src="[PROFILE:PHOTO]" />
 <div class="ProfileAddress">
  <div class="ProfileName">[USER:DISPLAYNAME]</div>
  <div>[PROFILE:STREET]</div>
  <div>[PROFILE:CITY], [PROFILE:REGION]  [PROFILE:POSTALCODE]</div>
  <div>[PROFILE:COUNTRY]</div>
 </div>
 <div class="ProfileContact">[PROFILE:TELEPHONE] [PROFILE:WEBSITE] [PROFILE:IM]</div><div style="clear:both;"></div>
 <div class="ProfileBio">[PROFILE:BIOGRAPHY]</div>
</div>
 <ul class="dnnActions dnnClear">
 <li>[HYPERLINK:EDITPROFILE]</li>
</ul>

Clicked update

Cleared Cache
Restarted Application

I go to my profile page and see nothing.

here is the page:

For each field under User Account settings, like First Name, check the default profile visibility and make sure it is not set to Admin only. You need to set this for each & every field. Set is to Members/All/Admin as appropriate for each entry.

If you look at source code for your page, you see the data is there, just set to display:none, so I'm almost certain this is a permission problem.

Hi John,
I've changed the default profile visibility for all profile items to "AllUsers" and find that my superuser account now shows the profile page. I can't get the general users to display their profile pages when logged in or when public. (Its blank and only the module title will display)

I did not find a section where I can look at the source code and set "display:none" for my User Profile page. Where can I find this?

Thanks for help.

This super account now displays the profile

Jason,
novice members of these forums are moderated and by nature it takes some time, until a moderated reviewed the posts - usually a couple of minutes but at some times of the day or night it may take a few hours. After a couple of posts you will get unmoderated and your posts will show up immediately.

Cheers from Germany,
