One of my clients is running a DNN 6.0.3 and it has become faulty over night.
Yesterday it worked fine when entering www.tearade.com and www.tearade.dk

Today it suddenly takes u to: http://tearade.dk/Install/UnderConstr...   ??????

Why does it do this and how do i make it stop doing that?!?

// Update

The hosting provider just updated their operating status and it would seem the SQL server is down.
Would such a thing cause DNN to go to the "Unavailable" automatically?

Definitely - this is the normal behaviour when DNN does not find the SQL server defined in the connection strings.

Best wishes

Thx a bunch, i just never experienced it before so i had no clue.

Meanwhile i actually found that restoring the web.config did the trick, it seems that db conn was lost as the server went down and dnn for some reason couldnt reconnect?

However, restoring the web.comfig worked for both sites affected. :-)

ouch, I never heard before of a site where connection strings have been lost from web.config. This really sounds strange.

I didnt check the web.config, because i dont think it was altered so the conn string went missing.

What i meant was, that it would seem the web page reacted as if it was still connected, despite the connection had actually been lost.

Much like if u make a phone call and while u r talking, the connection is broken and u dont notice because to u, its still just silent at the other end of the line.

Then u just dont get a reply and therefore u conclude that theres no response and u wait for the other party to react, because u had no indication that the connection had actually been cut.

And thats where DNN redirect u to the underconstruction.htm where a msg says to try again later. :-)

I think it seems very plausible thats what happens?
