I am trying to upgrade a client site from 6.1.2 to 6.2.5 but keep getting the following error when the upgrader runs and I just cannot find out what is wrong. Please can someone help as I need to get this site up to the latest version and even though I have upgraded 100s of DNN sites over the years I have never seen this before. If it cannot be solved here can anyone suggest how I can get someone from DNN to look into it or how I can get paid support to resolve the problem. Thanks.

did you unblock upgrade zip package prior to unpacking it (right click .zip file, select properties. on bottom of first tab klick "unblock").

Hi Sebastian

Yes I did that and did the upgrade the same way I have done for many other sites but this one fails. In fact I even tried to get the PowerDNN (where the site is hosted) support team to do the upgrade for me and they got the same error and said they have never seen this before. I did wonder if I turn debug mode on if that would provide any more info but not really sure if this would help.

1. try upgrading via 6.1.5
2. install symbol files for the new version (download symbol package and copy symbol files manually in /bin folder), to get better information about the issue.

I am a little confused by your point 2. You say to install the symbol files for the new version. Do you mean to do this before trying to do the upgrade because the upgrade itself is what is failing as soon as it starts the installation process. Would I not be better to install the Symbol files for the current version before I try and upload or will that not help?
