HI all -

I am getting some behavior that I do not expect, and hope someone can explain it for me. On my home page, I am using Data Springs' Dynamic Login module. If I have http://www.website.com/ in the URL line of my browser, entering my credentials and clicking on the login button does not work. The page just refreshes. However if I have http://www.website.com/home.aspx in the URL line of my browser, all works as expected. By looking at the page, it is clearly the same page being rendered, but behavior is different depending on the presence of "home.aspx" in the URL line. Why is this? I see it on DNN 5.6.2, 5.6.8 and 6.2.5. Does it have something to do with the "friendly URLs?"

Thanks
John

this might be an issue of redirection and maybe module requirements. I suggest posing the same question to DataSprings support.

In the hopes that it might help someone else, I will post my solution. What I did was to add the following line in the Friendly URLs (found under Host | Host Settings | Advanced Settings).

Match Replace with
.*/ ~/Default.aspx
