    My install gets as far as installing the modules when I get the "Thread was being aborted" error message.  Ive tried reducing the number of modules it has to install, but I still eventually get this error.  Im not sure if its a time out sort of thing or what, but if I eventually reduce down to NO modules to install, I make it completely through the installation without errors.

Its running on a Win2K3 server (web edition) connecting to an SQL 2000 database which is located on a separate box.

Any ideas?

This issue is directly related to a slow SQL server, the install takes so long the thread times out

I recommend either to find a faster SQL server, or install the core without modules first, and install the modules in a second install batch

(you are going to complain about slow DNN anyway, again related to the connection with your SQL server, so I'd opt for a faster SQL server)

 

*All this info is from my personal experience with overloaded SQL server and installing DNN

    Thats what I was afraid of.....the SQL server is located on the east coast, the box Im installing DNN on is on the west coast.  The pipe is wide open from here to there, but apparently there is just too much latency.
