Hi.  I was pulling my bald spot out trying to figure out why this wouldn't work.

DotnetNuke.Services.Mail.SendEmail("me@myemail.com", "them@gmail.com", "My Subject","See it on the phone only?");

I tried for ages but nothing showed up in MY gmail account.  Only after hours of trying did I notice on my Windows Phone that all the messages from all the tests had been successfully sent.  I checked the phone settings and there's nothing there about archiving etc.   I searched all about gmail and can't find my messages.
I sent some tests to my wife's gmail account and they appear instantly.

Is there something to do that guarantees that gmail will handle the mail normally?

I have the account set-up as IMAP so I set up Outlook to see if that would show me the messages.   It did and now I can see the messages in Gmail too ;.(

I've no idea what the fix is.  I changed nothing (directly) in Gmail.

you need to make sure in Host Settings that the SMTP account being used has been granted relay option by SMTP server.
