I am a new user and have installed 4.3.1

When a new user registers on DNN a verification email is sent to their email address but ALSO the email that a new user has registered also goes to their email address instead of the Web's admin's email address. (In other words they get 2 emails: 1. with a link to click to verify and 2. details of who registered (themselves))

Have I configured something wrong or is this a bug?

ver 4.3.1 (to 8 July 2006) ver 4.3.2 (to 20 July 2006) ver 4.3.3 (to 5 Aug 2006) ver 4.3.4 (to 20 Sep 2006) ver 4.3.5 (to 25 Dec 2006) ver 4.4.0 (to date)

Can someone confirm or refute this behavior for me?

When a new person registers on a DNN web site and verification is set to ON, there are 2 emails fired off - correct?

One email goes to the user with a verification code which needs to be entered the first time they sign on.

Another email goes to the Administrator of the forum telling the Admin that a new user has signed up.

This is what is happening on my DNN installations: Both emails get sent, but both are sent to the new user. The 2nd email is NOT sent to the Admin as I would expect it to be.

ver 4.3.1 (to 8 July 2006) ver 4.3.2 (to 20 July 2006) ver 4.3.3 (to 5 Aug 2006) ver 4.3.4 (to 20 Sep 2006) ver 4.3.5 (to 25 Dec 2006) ver 4.4.0 (to date)

I have this problem too.

I set registration mode to private and no email is sent to admin email address when a user is registered.

twice emails (the notify for admin and the notify for user) are sent to the user

Thanks for your reply ZyRix1st.

I think that this is a fairly important issue because it has legal implications (I believe) under the CAN-SPAM act. I believe (and I'm only half up-to-speed on this part of the law) that you need to collect and store the other half of the email/action in order to be able to prove that a person requested to be a member of your site if you ever send them an email from your site. This is to try and cut down on spam.

I think that 1 of 2 things needs to be actioned.

1. If our configuration is wrong then we need some documentation explaining how to configure this so that 1 email goes to owner/admin and the other to registree. (Which is what I believe should happen.)

OR

2. Needs to be entered and tracked as a bug.

ver 4.3.1 (to 8 July 2006) ver 4.3.2 (to 20 July 2006) ver 4.3.3 (to 5 Aug 2006) ver 4.3.4 (to 20 Sep 2006) ver 4.3.5 (to 25 Dec 2006) ver 4.4.0 (to date)
