He means he signed a 2 year contract for hosting with Godaddy.

Is there an exit clause or something written in the contract?

I agree with others that GoDaddy is not the best choice. I would encourage you to see if you can get out of your contract and move somewhere else. But ... you should be able to make DotNetNuke work with GoDaddy.

You could probably profit from help from someone who works with DotNetNuke all of the time. Feel free to contact me (see the Contact form on the website listed in my signature) and I can give you some suggestions regarding qualified people who can help.

While hosting DotNetNuke on Godaddy is generally a bad idea you *can* do it. In all honesty though you will spend more $$ than you saved with the godaddy hosting.  it is possible to make it work with godaddy depending on how large/complex the site is but it's no fun.

My recommendations for a new DotNetNuke user would be to point you to a real provider like PowerDNN.com or Appliedi.net - both offer a hands on service (optional fees)  to take your files and get them going with little knowledge required on your side.

Unfortunately I already paid up front!

Worse case scenario: If I can't get the site/DNN functioning with GoDaddy, is there any way to convert the DNN files into a static html web page?

About the only way to make your DNN website host well in GoDaddy is with a dedicated or virtual server plan.  This way, you are in full control of your experience.  However, if you're using their shared hosting plans, you are pretty much dead in the water in terms of support from them and for DNN.  And to be honest, that goes for any web application.  Their shared hosting environment is only good for HTML sites in my opinion.
