Ben,
Which version of DNN and how many portals are in use?
You could hide the option from the Pages menu in admin\ControlPanel\ControlBar.ascx to only display if the user is an Administrator (or Host) by surrounding it with some code.

AH! Thank you ... I didn't realize that the CE version didn't have that option.

Mike:
Ooo, now there's an option to consider... Thanks for the idea!

Mike:

I'm using v6.02.05 at the moment, with a single portal. I edited the RibbonBar.ascx file and added the inline command "if (UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo().IsSuperUser)" surronding the ASP:Panel "CurrentPagePanel"

This hides all the controls inside the popup panel, but it doesn't hide the menu option "Pages". When I hover over the menuitem "Page", I get small empty panel that pops up. Do you know how I can hide "Pages" from even appearing in the menu? I tried using adminMenus.ExcludeNodes = "Pages", but that doesn't seem to do anything. Not a whole lot of documentation on menu menipulation that I can find online. I would appreciate any help you (or anyone else) could offer.

Thanks!

Ben,
I haven't hidden the entire section..only options within the section. You'll want to check the .vb or .cs file for RibbonBar.ascx to see if there is code that is unhiding the panel.

Mike.

Darn...thanks for responding. I did try looking into the .cs code...but there wasn't anything that I could see that would hide the menu item completely. I just end up with an empty panel that appears on the screen when you hover over the "Pages" menu item. While in essense, I am able to prevent them from using that section, the solution I wrote does not look professional, and it bothers me to see an empty box appear. But if it's the only thing that can be done in a CE environment...::Shrugs:: So be it I suppose...
