Hello Mike,

This might be reasking Stef's question. Sorry if that is the case.  My project manager has asked about the possibility of setting the Login module to default to Windows Login without the use of the authentication buttons. In its current state, focus lands on the Standard button by default. My entire user population will be using Active Directory accounts. Durring Pilot testing, we received a number of complaints from users who didn't click Windows Login and received errors. Ordinarily, I might say "Follow the directions and click Windows Login," but one of my Pilot users was a V.P.

My question finally is, do you have suggestions on how I might make adjustments to the module's functionality, or do you have any plans for addressing this in a future release?

Thanks.

Maurice

This would be something that would have to be part of the DotNetNuke core and, as such, isn't something I can control with the provider. There used to be a way of doing it but from what I remember it no longer works. I'm not sure if it's covered in Stef's question as I'm not sure what post you're talking about so if you want to provide a link to it that'd be great.

I set our up at work so that only Windows Authentication is there but I did that 5 or 6 years ago and don't remember what I did. I think at the time you had the option in the Admin or Host settings on what logins were available but that's no longer there either.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your response.  Stef Liesmons questions was submitted under the topic DotNetNuke Active Directory 05.00.04 Release  quoted below.

Ideally we'd like to have the login page default to AD, but if that is not an option in the current DNN, I'd be interested in finding out how to hide or comment out the Standard button. Thanks for any guidance you may have.

Stef Liesmons wrote:

Selecting "Windows Login" and entering username without domain prefix is sufficient, as long as the default domain is properly configured in the AD properties. That's great.

However, in the old 5.x DNN days, it used to be possible to have the "Windows Login" as the default choice. Is that still possible?

Also, when a user clicks "Windows Login" and enters a faulty username/password, a message gets displayed and the "Windows Login" is disabled! A typical AD user is deadlocked. You can only either refresh the page or login with a standard user. This is really unusable for us that way...

Any solutions? Thanks!
