Jeff - Sunil's recommendation only works until the visit knows how to disable javascript in their browser and then they can right-click-->copy or save as and then get your image. Screenshot is another thing Mike mentioned.

Your best options are to watermark your images or just don't put them on the internet.

Jeff,

to answer the How-do-I-write-this- Download and install Will Strohl's Content Injection module from Codeplex (http://wnsinj.codeplex.com/). Then Google for a script and inject it, e.g. the ones here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/73...

Anyway: this will not help if someone wants to steal images. Use a watermark (e.g. (C) Jeff, www.jeffswebsite.com), reduce the size of the image to the absolutely needed dimensions and compress it for screen resolution, so it will not be useful for print and on other web sites.

Best wishes
Michael

Hi
Building a custom module which disable the mouse right click can be possible. Search for disabling the context menu event on mouse right click.
But as other members said still there is possibility to steal images. Though print screen can be a way but it will not give the exact image.

Thanks,

Don't waste your time/effort on this

just disable JavaScript and all your JavaScript solutions are useless. If someone wants your image he will get it. You will only annoy the people that don't want to steal the image. People that do want to use the right-click on your website, be it on images or not.

If you don't want people stealing your images dont put them online, your best solution would be to watermark them

I'm with Armand on this - don't waste your time. The easiest way to steal pictures: Use firefox - hit tools | Page info | media and it even has a handy "save as" button. You can select one or multiple images to save. I don't have to right click or disable js.

On one of my sites I've tried everything and copy protection tells me - your pictures were copied 10,000 times this month. Watermarking does work to some extent.

What we really need to do is insert a virus that activates when the picture is copied and burns their house down, or is that illegal? LOL. Sites like pinterest may object?
