Hello, after upgrading to DNN 706 I have problems with the HTML editor.
The editor box appears at the bottom of the page not where it should be. The width is 5000ish - very, very, very wide. The Rich Text Editor is selected but there seem to be no format buttons.

I have tried to
- edit the web.config
- switch between Controlbar and Ribbonbar
but no luck....

Any suggestions please

;-Oliver

Oliver,
which HTML editor are you using (see default editor setting in your web.config or Host > HTML Editor Configuration). if you are still running old FCKEditor (default editor for DNN until version 5.3.0) you should switch to RadEditor or install free CKEditor (http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com), which is the successor of FCKEditor 2. Please make sure to uninstall FCKEditor afterwards, because there are known security issues.

Cheers from Germany,

Dear Sebastian, thank you for your help - again ;-)

Changing the editor did work - at least we have something that is workable now. The editor does still not show exactely where it should be but much better than before - at least i have the format buttons now. Not sure why the RadEditor did not work at all though...

Thanks,
Oliver

Are the buttons displaying at all just with the incorrect images?
What I had found in my instance of DNN7 was that the CSS created by Artisteer was wreaking havoc with the toolbar buttons for the RadEditor.
I forced the following CSS for ALL sites:

.reToolbar li:before
{
content:none!important;
}
