You know, I think you are not getting the answer you want because DAL2 is not just a few lines of code. It is spread out around the module in a few different places. You need to establish your data model in one place, then code for it in another place.

I am just getting to grips with it myself, but I found this video to be very helpful understanding how DAL2 works (the DAL2 specific information stars about halfway into the video.) http://www.dotnetnuclear.com/articles...

After watching that, the next most useful thing for me has been to do as suggested above and install the Christoc DAL2 template, which creates a bunch of sample code showing an implementation.

In a nutshell:
Under the project root, Components folder, there is a file called Item.cs which contains the data model for an individual Item in the module. This is where you can map between your physical data table and the code. Once you've done that, look at the View.ascx.cs file for examples of using the data object.
