Joost,

running the search indexer every minute could cause heavy load on your server, as all modules that implement the ISearchable interface will be reindexed, and this could last much longer. So the search indexer will not be finished and started over and over again.

To your question: no. The update will not happen when a new entry is made, but when the search indexer has done its job and indexed the new item. And the client will see this after he refreshed his RSS reader (normally, the reader is doing this automatically from time to time).

RSS is not a push-technology, so the subscriber will not get a new message as soon as you entered it. Therefore it is not a technology that is useful if you want to alarm the fire brigade because your house is burning down...

Best wishes
Michael

Joost,

another thing: This short interval could also be a reason that your search index is corrupt already. The table grows and grows, and this is slowing down SQL Server and your web site, and you'll get massive performance issues.

Therefore I would suggest to set the scheduler's interval back to 30 minutes and then clear the search index (see here: http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/AboutDot...).

Finally, wait for the next search index run.

Best wishes
Michael

Thanks for your concern!
I switched back the Search Engine Scheduler allready.
However I don't think anything is broken or corrupt. Website is just as fast as normal, and the search functionality still works.
Next Search Engine Scheduler run is 15 minutes from now, but I don't expect any RSS-updates now, as I've seen the scheduler run passing quite a few times now...

Well then... this looks to me that the index is already currupted.

It could also be a caching problem, so please try to clear the cache and restart the application pool (from the Tools menu, when you are logged in as a host).

Best wishes

Can I check if the index is corrupted?
The eventlog shows no errors at all.

I've tried your suggestion to clear the cache and restart the application, but still nothing happens.
No updates are given.

Any help is welcom, again :)
