Is it possible to skin the emails? I've found where I can change the text and subject of each email, but it's not easy to change the footer of every possible message, so I would like to put the signature in some template, so it get's included in every message sent. And maybe add a logo at the top of all messages.

For now I'm interested in the messages DNN sends (like the new user registration, account update and password reminder email), but it would be great if there were a template for all mails sent from a site, no matter which module sends them.

are you talking about newsletter module or messages from message center?

I'm talking about emails like the new user registration, account update and password reminder email.

It's not the newsletter module and I'm not familiar with message center, but I don't think these emails have anything to do with message center. Message center seems to be about personal e-mails, while I'm looking for the system notifications.

I mean the messages for which you can set the text at  Admin -> Languages -> Edit static resource -> EMAIL_USER_REGISTRATION_PRIVATE_BODY.Text

you may use any HTML in the resources, if you like. There is no general Email-template though (feel free to enter this suggestion into Community > User Voice here on DotNetNuke.com)

Hi Roland,

there are templates for these in the language resource files.

The problem with designing HTML emails are wide-spread, just use Google to find tons of them. In short:

1) Do not use CSS files, or even style class definitions inside your email. Make something like <_span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-weight: bold; font-size: 14px;color: #999900;"_>This is some bigger bold yellow-brownish text<_/span_> (Remove the _)
2) If you use images, it is at least easier to reference them somewhere in the web than to send them as an attachment (and this will also dramatically reduce the needed bandwidth). In most of the mail clients nowadays you get this message that you have to click somewhere to download the images, but this should not be the problem if your clients trust you...
3) You don't have a good chance that your email will arrive as intended if you use floating divs etc. So keep the design simple.

Best wishes
Michael
