I have the same problem after upgrading from DNN6.2.6 to DNN7.1. Account Login Module has disappeared from the list of modules.

How do you "manually create an extension of type module and point that to the /Admin/Authentication/Login.ascx"?

Thanks

I suggest installing a new blank DNN 7.1 (but use default template) locally and manually create your module definition including controls in Host > Extensions. Next you just need to place the module on a page and select this page as login page in Site Settings.

Thanks for that, Sebastian. I've got it working in the main site now. To further clarify for others, I backed up up my database and web folder just to be sure, then went to Host > Extentions, clicked Create New Module, selected Create Module From = Control, chose folders Admin, then Authentication, then selected Resouce = Login.aspx. I entered the Module name - i.e. Account Login and then clicked Create Module. And the module was then back in the list of all modules and could be placed on a page where it worked.

Darrell,

We just tried this method on a 06.02.06 installation and it unfortunately did not work.  The module shows up now in Host > Extensions and in the add module ddl.  However, adding it to a page results in no module actually being added to the page.  It is my guess that the Create Module from Control just didn't make all the necessary "hooks".  Any ideas?

 Thanks,

David

simply use "Authentication" module instead fo "Account Login".
