can i do it somewhere in the Host or Admin panel?

Host settings i wouldn't touch, as these are global settings.

The problem arouse only with a 1-2 new sites, old sites do not have this message.
Our hosting provider usually does all the word "IIS" -related tasks.

There may be another solution to fix the MAC Validation error:

Host > Host Settings > at the bottom of the page there is a "Restart Application" link. 
Apparently this will clear the cache and the problem might go away.
