I am having a similar issue.

I have installed my site Windows 2008 Server using an IP address that I will eventually use to host this site (don't have a domain name yet). I can see the default screen but that is all I can see as all other screens show me 404. I am using dnn 7.1.1

Here are the 2 entries created automatically in PortalAlias table.

1 0 61.8.3.224 -1 2013-08-28 09:35:55.783 -1 2013-08-28 09:35:55.783 Normal NULL NULL True
2 0 default.aspx -1 2013-08-28 09:48:24.997 -1 2013-08-28 09:48:24.997 Normal NULL NULL False

I can install and run the dnn site on localhost as well as dnndev.me (different server, haven't tried on this macine).

Any help is appreciated

Having the same issue. Can't get past the Getting Started pop-up. Can't access any other page anywhere.

Uninstalled, deleted the database, put the files from the ZIP back in the directory and ran through the install.
Same result.

Previous attempt was with 7.1.1
Current attempt is with 7.0.6

Results are the same. The getting started pop-up window wont let me go anywhere else or do anything.
