Ok, this is a complete hack to get this working again  (I want everyone to be able to post on anyone's wall if they are logged in, regardless of if they are friends or not)

In this file:  DotNetNuke_Community_07.01.00_Source\Community\Modules\Journal\View.ascx

I changed this line

<% if (ShowEditor) {  %>

to

<% if (Request.IsAuthenticated)   {  %>

Now everyone can post (even if unverified! This will bypass a few rules (see view.cs) so be careful)

Thanks Rodney for creating the issue. I added a comment and notified the Platform team. You can see that the issue has now been scheduled for 7.1.2.

Its on my plate to fix. The code change done in 7.1.1 to only allow friends to post to "my" wall accidentally stopped me from posting to my own wall.

Thanks for the quick response Will/Charles. I'd really like to have a setting to allow All or just Friends to be able to post on walls - in my social network it does not make sense to have to be friends to connect on walls - 1 setting would make this suit both use-cases.

Rodney,
I think that is a great suggestion, but beyond the scope of what we would do for a maintenance release. I would suggest adding your suggestion to Community Voice and making sure you get some votes.
