Hi,

I seem to have a major problem since upgrading to DNN 7.1.1. ONLY my SuperUsers can post on any Journal walls now. I was on DNN 7.0.5 and I logged in as some test users and posted on their own walls (Registered Role - Verified/Authorised). I then did the upgrade and I think since then I have been unable to write on my own profile wall! I am sure I am doing something really silly here but I can't figure it out.

Not even Administrators can write on their own walls. I added a new Journal module to another page and was also unable to write on it. Viewing it with the Host account does work (they can write).

I can even see my own messages on the home page Journal:   http://www.pokerdiy.com/  so I know it was possible.

I tried adding the Edit right to Registred Users but this is not the solution.

Here is the screenshot of me logged in as Admin. There are no Javascript errors in the Console. http://screencast.com/t/hoqJlIUSL

and here is the exact same page but logged in as Host - as you can see I can now write on the Journal.  http://screencast.com/t/1Orh68SWXMY

This person seems to have the same problem with no solution:   http://www.dnncreative.com/Forum/tabi...

Any Ideas?

I noticed the same issue on an upgraded site as well as two new installs.
Currently I am looking for a module to replace core Journal due to too many problems.

Are you serious about this Sebastian? Or does this just mean that you know more then we and Journal is stripped from future versions of DNN Platform and you should buy Evoq Social if you need to have Social functionality in your site?

Rodney, I think what you are trying to do is wrong. It is perfectly normal for a user not being able to post anything to his/hers own Journal inside his/hers profile. Instead go to a friend and post something there and you will see that it will work. Also when you the Journal module on a page without any Profile stuff you will see that anybody can post here...hope this helps.

But Mariette, I was able to post perfectly fine before the upgrade on my own walls (I think?). Facebook and Google plus are the leaders here - part of the social stickiness is posting your status update on your own wall.

I am able to post on a Friend's wall. However this is not what I want - with ActiveSocial it could be configured to post on any wall which was a lot more social (my use-case is that strangers chat about home poker games - they don't necessarily want to be "friends" to have conversation!

"Also when you the Journal module on a page without any Profile stuff you will see that anybody can post here...hope this helps."
This is not the case on my site - ONLY Host can post on ANY journal module since the upgrade.

@Sebastian - did you find fix for them? It kind of kills my whole social network if users cannot communicate.

I raised this here:   https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow...
