to prevent both modules (with same moduledefID, not same moduleID) will be showing the warning, you check for ModuleID less then current moduleId.

This is not the way i want it to be. I dont want that admin first add multiple instance of the module on same page. Then some validation on module level performed and warning message shown.

Thanks,

Sunil, otherwise you need to add a module setting "preventMultipleInstances" and create modified version of controlPanel, which checks this property.

Sunil - it looks like you can't easily have what you wanted. Maybe we can help another way.

Why is it important? Why not simply allow as many instances as the user wants?

Best wishes,

@Richard, In my custom module i am generating some controls dynamically. These control's id are not dynamic at this moment. This is developed in this way because of some factors like some css rules attached to these ids and others. So if i allow admin to add as many instance, it will create some error.
Thats why i am thinking that DNN should add this feature of "allowing/restricting multiple instance of a module in a single dnn page".

Thanks,
