Upgraded some DNN instances to DNN 7.1.2. and was really happy to see the new search functionality.
With these new core features we don't need third party modules like searchboost, Great!

Did find some minor issues:

  1. You can enable and disable modules to be indexed. In my case "Pages" is displayed twice;
  2. The results are ordered by module, but how/where can I change the friendly name of the module. Now it shows "Forms & List", "Reports",  "DnnForge - NewsArticles" etc;
  3. Not all the labels/text can be translated  for example the dropdown "Advanced";
  4. I Installed the latest dutch language pack and now it show Pagina\'s in stead of Pagina's. Where can I change this?
  5. In the "Search admin" interfase you have 3 tabs, but the "Synonyms" and "Ignore Words" are blank/empty (in dutch).

AFAIR your point #3 has been reported in Jira and should be addressed in DNN 7.2.0

AFAIR your point #3 has been reported in Jira and should be addressed in DNN 7.2.0
#4 you should be able to fix it using language editor
#5 the synonym list is empty by default, ignored words are populated in portal install language only

Sebastian's covered everything well I think, but if you find anything else I recommend looking in jira first and if it's something new then logging it. https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/issues/?jql=project%20%3D%20DNN%20AND%20fixVersion%20%3D%20%227.2.0%22%20AND%20text%20~%20%22search%22%20ORDER%20BY%20updated%20DESC%2C%20priority%20DESC%2C%20created%20ASC is a link for various search related items being worked on already for 7.2.0 (one of which is your #3, others are more edge case, and there are some nice enhancements around user profile indexing and custom sorting coming also)
