Hey all, I've tried all day to get this issue fixed, but have had zero luck. We have over a gig of files on our dnn site so a clean install is not an option. We are current running 6.0.1, so I copied the database and the old dnn to a development server to upgrade.  I've tried removing the eventqueue.config and add the try/catch to the filemanager.ascx.vb, but nothing works.

After upgrade everything seems to work except the "file management" I'm getting:

Like I said, I've tried googling and feel like I've exhausted my resources. It may have something to do with the files/folder names we have, and maybe someone has a suggestion to find those files/folder names that are screwing it up?

Thanks again for your help!

First there is a suggested upgrade path article on the wiki, that you should to be following.

After downloading a file compressed or executable file from the Internet you have to unblock the downloaded file first on your System.  This can be done by right click on the file, check the advanced Settings, and click on the unblock button on the footer of the Default tab.  If you don't do this not all of the files will be extractet!

Also be sure after restore the database to your local System you map the SQL Login Name to the database users Name.  By Default this is not added after restoring, if it is not the same system.

First off, thanks so much for your help and taking the time to write your post.

Secondly, when you say "suggested upgrade path", I assume you are referring to the pinned first post in this thread. Problem is when I click on his link it takes me to the dnn home page. Maybe you can direct me towards the recommended upgrade instructions?

Finally, I'm installing this on Windows Server 2008 R2 and have no such options when I click on my .zip file. I only have a "Properties" and when I click on that I do not have an "Advanced Settings", just an "Advanced" and that gives me no such options?

Thanks again for your help and look forward to your reply!

Sorry guys, but you really need to look into this. Unfortunately we are in a time-crunch and probably are unable to upgrade before we redesign our entire website.

I followed all instructions from here:  http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/Page/Upgrading-DotNetNuke/Default

I got all green successes when installing, and still get the above error.

Sorry Andy, but really it is a an issue with your specific System.  Of course some Special configuration can make issues.  But if I am upgrade my instances from DNN 6.2.x I havent no issues.  Also if I am Upgrade from older Versions and looking into the suggested upgrade paths you can find on http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/Page/... I didn't running into an issue related to the DNN Platform.

This says that the issue you run into have to do with your instance and not with the upgrade package.

One Point I think to remember is an issue with the File Management if you have disabled popups on site Settings.  This issue was solved on DNN 7.1.2.

Please check if the Skin loads it's own jQuery and jQueryUI library, if yes the Skin Needs an upgrade, about DNN 7.1.x gets Major changes to jQuery 1.9.1 and jQueryUI 1.10.3 library!

So if you run into a issue on upgrade you have to restore all files and the database from brevious done backup, check the instance if it worked well, and then starting to upgrade from scratch.

Of course we will still try to help you to solve your issue.  If you are need urgently Support you can contact me, so I will make you an offer for a P2P support contract.
