Have you LOOKED at the queries using fiddler? What are the actual urls being called and what response messages are being generated?

As far as I can see testing that latest versions of DNN on my local test servers - there are no issues relating to non-standard ports and ajax
- unless you can shed some light on what is actually happening with the message flow on your system its not possible to speculate further.

Managed to resolve the issue albeit slightly changing the DNN source. There appears to be a few issues but the two main issues throughout the source I see, are that modules across DNN including DNN admin modules are handling URL redirects differently, as well as ports being attached to the portal alias when creating redirect URLs.

Because of this different parts of the site are using different alias' during the process of creating the redirect urls.

I updated the code to ensure across dnn redirects are utilizing the Response.Redirect(Globals.NavigateURL()) and removed the ports being attached to the alias where required (portal alias already contains the port).

These seem to fix my issues. When I get a chance I'll create unit tests for the fixes and make sure nothing is breaking. So far everything seems to be good.

Please note that I'm using  humanfriendly urls instead of advanced and useportnumber = true.

Hey Joey,

So that this is resolved in future versions of the core - can you raise a ticket at support.dotnetnuke.com - that explains what you found and ideally what code changes you made.

This will help to ensure that these changes get integrated correctly into the core - that way you will be able to down the track update your sites to newer versions of the core without having to repatch things yoruself.
