Hi guys,
I am developer, it is the first time i try DNN.
I downloaded DotNetNuke_Community_07.01.02_Source.zip
I installed successfully. But after that, the CMS functions didn't run, such as: couldn't open popup, content didn't display.

My environment development:
Windows 8
Visual Studio 2012
SQL Server 2008R2
IIS Express (Build in visual studio 2012)

Plesase help me ! Thank so much !

Have you first compiled the source? If not you haven NOT all needed files on your Website Folders.

If you are only developing modules, you have no need for the Source version.

Dont use IIS Express with DNN - it will end in tears.

If you are building from source - by default - dnn will want to make a website at http://localhost/DNN_Platform/

Make sure before you start the IIS - real version - is properly installed and running on your machine - and that you can browse to http://localhost/  and see the IIS default page.  That will make life much easier

Also - make sure you run Visual Studio as Administrator - the dnn website elements are configured as a web site application which needs the raised permission levels.

First time you compile DNN - switch to Release mode - it just seems to work out better that way.

Hi Wes,

Possible minor correction.

>>dnn will want to make a website at http://localhost/DNN_Platform/

I installed 7.01.01 Source yesterday. It wanted http://localhost/DotNetNuke_Community

Best wishes,
