Search indexing has been completely rewritten in DNN 7.2.0 - maybe there is an upgrade issue not to replace or remove the old ones. Check /install/providers folder of your upgrade package for an updated version of the provider and install it (If this provider has been removed and there is a UI option to uninstall, you should do).
CKEditor is not part of DNN distribution you may download an upgrade (2.0.8) from http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com), it has significantly improved :)

Thanks Sebastian.

I have upgraded the CKEditor.

This part of DNN is still confusing me. ALL of the provider listed on my website say that they are not in use. Does this mean I can delete them? Why do only some have a delete icon? Is this part of DNN working as expected?

I posted a screen-shot of the providers earlier in this post. Should a v7.2.0 version of DNN have all of these? If not, how do you uninstall providers if they don't have an uninstall icon?

Sebastian, you mention my "upgrade package". Are you referring to the upgrade package I downloaded from DNN - the zip file? If so, I checked this, and there is no search indexing files.

Thanks...again.
Rod

"In use" is only populated for modules.

Thanks Sebastian,

OK - sounds like this section of DNN needs a bit of a re-write. It's misleading/bad UI to list items and then have column headers that don't apply.

Obviously providers are used for something. How do you tell if they are being used....and why do only some of them provide an option to delete? Is this the indication that they're in use, or a bad upgrade?

Thanks Rod.

Rod,
usually you need at least one of each provider - for search, HTML Editor, Menu, SiteMap, ...
This is a bit different, if DNN platform replaces one interface by another - like search indexer, which is now handled by Lucene.
Usually, DNN install and upgrade packages include all required providers and puts optional ones in place for installation.
3rd party providers you need to install and keep up2date yourself, e.g. for CKEditor provider, you may subscribe on codeplex, to get notified when new releases are available.

Sebastian Leupold
